Just the right stone

Thomas sources a wide range of rare ancient marbles from antiquity as well as many precious and semi-precious stones from all over the world. Through extensive research and knowledge of his materials, he is able to find the perfect colours and textures for each piece. 

Personally sourced

Many of the stones that make up Thomas’ vast collection are exceptionally rare and can only be found in the Tuscan hills surrounding Florence – in fact, the very same locations where the Medici sourced their local stones during the Renaissance period.

Armed with his pick axe and expert eye, Thomas goes in search of a colourful ‘palette’ to bring back to his studio. Sometimes it is only when the stone is sliced in two that the true character of the material is revealed. That’s when the ideas begin to flow and a picture can start to take shape.
