To commemorate the late David Somerset, 11th Duke of Beaufort, this plaque was commissioned to be set into the memorial stone made by Rory Young for Badminton Church. Using gem quality blue lapis-lazuli and the very highest quality yellow chalcedony (calcedonio giallo) from Tuscany, Thomas has selected the natural shading in the stone to depict the Portcullis.
